Sunday, August 1st was my birthday. I'm 21! Wahoo!! Finally I'm catching up to Shem's age. No, I'm not happy to be aging, but there is a difference when I'm age 20 saying my husband is 28 as opposed to being age 21 saying the same thing. No, I didn't go out and do the traditional 21st birthday celebration, BUT my celebration was better...Mommy style!
Shem made my birthday a fun one minus the fact that we were doing lots of last minute things for leaving town the next day. I was full of thanks on this particular birthday, acknowleding the fact that I'm a mother and wife to a wonderful daughter and husband. It's so fun being a mommy! My gift to me was spending time with Maycee...one of my most favorite things to do!

Shem decided to make me banana pancakes for breakfast! Yum! And when I came downstairs to the kitchen, I was greeted with flowers and cards from both Shem and my in-laws! :)
Later on we had a small celebration at my parents with imitation Tia Rosa salmon tacos and funfetti cupcakes for desert! The best part of the day was being surrounded by family. There's no better gift than having loving family.
The next day, we were off to California for our 1 year anniversary...leaving Maycee behind. Our trip was a blast and we got tons of pictures on our new camera! That post is coming, it will be a big one!
